SUONO VIBRAZIONE MATERIA

The performance involves the use of a system consisting of a steel plate that vibrates thanks to special speakers, generating low frequencies. On this surface I will place different types of stony and liquid materials, whose interaction with the vibrations is captured in real time by a camera. The images are projected in large format, creating continuously changing textures.

This performance is inspired by a field recording experience that I carried out in 2017 for the “sound of concrete” project, in an extraction quarry where, inside the mountain, there was an enormous machine that, grinding the stone, produced a vibrant note. It is precisely this vibration that I reproduce on the plate, creating a direct link between the sound and the matter.
